$30 Uber Ride vs. $11k DWI charge...

Updated: May 22, 2019

You're out and about having a good time, maybe having a few libations (what old people call drinks). It’s getting time for you to go home because you have an early class. Now is the time to put that college education to the test;

What’s more expensive...? A $20-$30 Uber or Lift Ride.... or the $11,000.00 DWI you may get because you don’t want to pay for a ride... Hmmmm. What are the chances of you being the one to get stopped? After all, you only had a few drinks. Is it really a good idea to roll the dice on that one? Let’s start by figuring out just how close I may be to intoxicated...

As you can see, it doesn’t really take that much to put you close to that magical .08% ...

If we’re trying to protect ourselves, we want to be able to protect ourselves from things we can’t control, like armed robbery, assaults, murder, rape, and any other number of unpleasant things we don’t want to have to be involved in. So why would I take a chance being involved in anything I could control, like getting home safe, staying out of trouble, or possibly getting that “Driving While Intoxicated” charge because I thought I could get away with it, or because I didn’t even think about it in the first place...?

Defense and protection are more than just being ready for when things might happen. It’s making sure you don’t put yourself in a bad position in the first place.

So the next time you're heading home for the night....Think.... which is more expensive?
